Poker

This Poker thing is both addictive and a hell of a lot harder than it started out to be. Some days are better than others that’s for sure.

We now have a family of online poker junkies. It’s good practice I think, but I’m not sure. There are times I think it is, and times when it just doesn’t seem to matter. Claudine is the only one who’s been brave enough to gamble with cash. The way folks play with cash is certainly different than they way they bet and play with the “play money” according to her.

We now have a little wager to see who can ge to 100,000 play chips the fastest.

That’s going to be a challange. There are nights when I do very well, but I havn’t figured out when to walk away from the table. Claudine is much better at that than I am.

But we’ll see, it’s game on now.

Birthday Party Madness

Birthday Party Photos are online in the Gallery.

As posted previously, we hosted a 3.5-way birthday/skating party for the kids this past weekend.

Photos are here.

Rounding out the weekend with birthday parties.

We finished off our weekend with a quadruple birthday party celebration.

We had a Skating party to celebrate all the kids birthdays.  Rather than have 4 distinct birthday parties, the kids decided to have one _large_ skating party.  So we rented out the rink for 2 hours, and had 3 and a half parties.  Michael didn’t really want a part he just wanted a few friends over to skate.

But Molly, Maria and Maggie all did the cake, and present thing at the rink.

It was a success, and lots of fun.  We killed 3 birds with one stone, had lots of fun.  I think everyone enjoyed it and no one got hurt.

I took lots of pictures and I’ll post them in the next day or so.

Barn Update

Rounding 3rd and heading for home on the barn.

Carlie and Co, worked about 4 hours Friday and about 6 hours Saturday. Apparently we’re missing a few critical pieces of metal or they would have gotten a lot farther. They can’t put the sliding doors up or anything around the doors because they are missing some backing trim. We also don’t have our sky lights. All of the missing stuff should be here Tuesday and they *plan* to finish then or shortly thereafter.

We also plan to lay out the loft and stalls shortly and make a decision on building stalls or going with free standanding stalls, or something in between.

We finished up the perimiter fence for the first field but ran out of time and strength to get the dry lot fenced.

We knocked out over 50 posts between friday night and Saturday, and I was feeling it Sunday big time.

Pictures are below. The last photos show the barn from the field to with the back of the house in it to give you some perspective on where the barn sits.

Monty is loving it.

Monty eats up all this time outside working in the field. That little bugger lives to be outside chasing anything that moves in the hay.

I snapped a couple photos of him while I was out shooting the progress on the barn today. The hay is currently taller than him by, oh about 6 inches.
