Men, Women, & Hair Color

I’m probably about to step in it in a really big way… But this is about the only way I can think of to explain the situation.

When I married my wife she was a blond. For the purpose of this discussion we’ll use this color to signify blond:

Over the years she’s taken her hair back to her natural color, more of a brunette color, for that color I’ll use this to illustrate:

Families and Christmas What’s it all about?

We have a medium to large (extended) family. Though in the overall scheme of things, it’s probably small by some standards.

As long as I can remember (and I’m nearly 40) the family has gathered at Christmas time. We’ve gathered at other times of the year as well but rarely all of the family. We certainly saw each other during other times of the year but we (ALL) always got together at Christmas.

Digging up old stuff

Looking through the web-logs I noticed a number of hits coming from DirtRider and other forums looking for content I no longer had linked to on the site since it went blog like.

I’ve resurrected some of that stuff since, while it’s still old, it still has value. While I no longer own a KDX, and am actually dirtbike-less at the moment since I sold the YZ 🙁 I still do enjoy it and am looking forward to getting another one soon (shhh don’t tell Claudine).

So if you’ve stopped by here looking for some of the information on swapping out your fork springs or changing your clutch or moving your kickstand location on the KDX you’ll find that here:

LG Lemon Dishwasher Update

OK, we’re on our way…

We purchased a replacement LG Dishwasher to replace the lemon. We took care of that last weekend and it was delivered on Monday. I had hoped to install it sooner but it hadn’t worked out that way.

It’s installed now and we’ll be returning the original one shortly as our Home Depot 90 day satisfaction guarantee is running out.

The replacement sounds excellent, at least on the first test Quick Wash. Nice and quiet. Of course the first one started out that way too.

We’ll see. More to follow on this saga.

We did understand from the repair guy when they called that they are receiving a LOT of repair calls on the LG units, this is NOT good. We also understand that a friend of the family purchased an LG refrigerator and that they were supposed to get an accessory or something with it that wasn’t there. Not sure what it was but it took forever to get. I’ll talk to them and find out. Not sure if this is repair related or not. But it sounds like LG might not have their act together in the states.

First, we are a larger than average family. We have 6 people in our household. We cook at home 3 meals a day so we use the heck out of a dishwasher and we wear them out. We run one 2x a day and have very hard water. Yes, we have a water softener but even with one, we still have harder than average water and appliances just aren’t made like they used to be. I figure 5 years is about the average life cycle these days.

Our last dishwasher was a Kenmore and we got a good years out of it. We broke it about once a year. In fact there was a part in the top that was simply a poor design element. We were able to pick this part up for $8 at RepairClinic.com and I highly recommend that site. But after 5 years of use and abuse if finally gave it up. The pump quit and we decided we wanted something newer. We didn’t have a ‘high-end’ Kenmore but it wasn’t a bargain basement builder model either. something in the $350 range 5 years ago.
